Eames® Turned Stool

Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller® - 1960

The Eames Turned Stools (formerly Eames Walnut Stools) are now available in an ebonized solid ash along with a fourth silhouette designed by the Eameses which wasn’t originally produced. Designed by Ray Eames for the lobby of the Time & Life Building in New York City, these sculptural occasional pieces function as stools, side tables, or something in between. Charles and Ray Eames affectionately called them “perchers” and used them throughout their own Pacific Palisades home. Crafted from solid turned walnut or new ebonized solid ash, their concave tops and bottoms pair with decorative center sections. Four designs offer any space a flexible selection of seats and surfaces.
