The Barcelona Chair and Stool were designed for the German Pavilion at the 1929 International Exhibition in Barcelona as a gift for the Spanish royal family. Whether placed in front of the Barcelona Chair, or standing alone, the Barcelona Stool epitomizes Mies van der Rohe’s most famous maxim “less is more”. The Stool has a chrome or stainless steel frame is available in the button-tufted style of the Chair, or with a thick cowhide sling in black with nylon laces.

Materials:

Hand-buffed stainless steel or polished chrome frame. Cowhide belting straps are dyed to match specified leather colour. Stool has 16 individual leather panels which are cut, hand-welted, and hand-tufted with leather and buttons from a single cowhide. Cushions are highly resilient urethane foam with down-like dacron polyester fiberfill.
