Maija Louekari’s Siirtolapuutarha (city garden) is a brilliant line drawing which tells a tale of a journey from a bustling city center to an allotment garden overflowing with flowers and vegetables. It depicts the everyday beauty of a simple rag rug on the floor of an allotment garden cottage and is based on themes like sustainable living and the joy of working with your hands.  The name Räsymatto translates to “rag rug” in Finnish. The pattern features rows of lively, hand-drawn black-and-white (or colourful) dots. Mix and match this iconic Marimekko pattern with other tableware in the series.
