Gatto Table Lamp
Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for FLOS - 1960
Named after “cat,” Gatto Table Lamp is a Castiglioni brothers 1960 cocoon creation which sits softly on any table, offering a glowing diffused light. This “cat” from Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was inspired by the Bubble Lamps created by artist George Nelson for the Howard Miller Company in the late 1940s. The lamp is done in the famous “cocoon” style that the duo was known for: a white powder coats the internal steel structure, which is then sprayed with the soft, webby resin. The diffuser is then protected by a delicate resin transparent, sprayed-on finish. Available in two different sizes.
