Bilboquet Table Lamp
Philippe Malouin for FLOS - 2023
Canadian-born, London-based designer Philippe Malouin’s Bilboquet Table Lamp consists of two coloured cylinders connected by a magnetic sphere that acts as a joint and allows the upper cylinder to rotate, directing the flow of light. All the elements that compose it are inspired by the bilboquet, a game born in France in the 16th century, to which the lamp owes its name. The Bilboquet’s body is made of a special pigmented polycarbonate deriving from a by-product of paper production rather than from petroleum. The cable can be adjusted and locked in place through a special slit in the base of the lamp. The product has been designed according to the ISCC standards and it is assembled with total absence of glued components so that it can be completely separated for future recyclability. Available in three finishes: Linen, Sage and Tomato.
