Tatou is the French word for ‘armadillo’, and it was an armadillo’s overlapping scales as well as ancient Japanese armour that inspired this unique marriage of traditional form and unconventional materials from Patricia Urquiola. The result is a design in which “the shadow plays as important a role as the light.”
